OSAD Director Named Judge for Idyllwild's Annual Art Show
Olivet School of Art & Design Director Zimou Tan has been named as the judge for an annual art show in Idyllwild, California.
Organized by the Art Alliance of Idyllwild, the annual art show entitled “Front and Center” features adjudicated art in four categories — 2D, Wearable Art, Photography and Digital Art, and 3D. A 4,000- square-feet gallery space is expected to overflow with beautiful creations by AAI artists.
Dedicated to the Arts and Art Education, AAI wishes to bring the Idyllwild community together to appreciate visual arts and to support the achievement of artistic excellence through the annual art show.
As an experienced art educator and internationally recognized master artist, OSAD Director Zimou Tan feels honored to contribute his expertise to the growing art scene in Idyllwild.
“Judging [art] is like teaching. Learning is like teaching. They are mutually interacting and no one can know everything about all mediums,” Tan said.
A number of OSAD students participated in a previous AAI-organized event. AAI warmly welcomed these emerging artists, and expressed possibilities for future cooperation between Olivet University and the alliance.
The art show will open to the public from Friday, May 20 until Sunday, May 22 at Middle Ridge Winery Tasting Gallery. Attendees may choose to meet artists in person at the artist reception on Saturday, May 21 from 5:30p.m.to 7:30p.m. Admission for the exhibition and reception is free.
