OCAD Students Take an Interest in Digital Imaging
Students of the Olivet College of Art & Design will be taking a strong interest in digital imaging this Fall. The new course will focus on the history, techniques, and theory of creating digital images. It will be taught by OCAD's newest professor, James Cameron Ewing.
Mr. Ewing says that he hopes to key in on core design principles during the course and share his passion for design to emerging student artists.
OCAD students are excited about the course which has many practical applications. Digital imaging principles are used in website design, logos, brochures, and a variety of graphic design fields.
“It is our goal to continue raising the educational standards for our students and we are confident that Cameron’s experience will contribute greatly to the Digital Imagery course,” said Dr. Joan Carter, dean of OCAD.
Mr. Ewing brings a unique professional experience to the classroom. That experience includes working as a Senior Designer at top design studios in New York, London, and Los Angeles. He has designed in multiple mediums from traditional, digital, and motion. For his work, He is also a recipient of several awards including ID Magazine’s Design Review Award (2007) and Addy Award’s Best in Show (2007). Mr. Ewing received his MFA in Graphic Design from CalArts and a Post-Baccalaureate degree at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
